LSU is traditional and proud.
Greek life at LSU is large and diverse. LSU has approximately 1500 potential new members that go through Panhellenic recruitment (fall 2023 numbers) so you need to stand out. While you can join without knowledge of the system, it is very difficult without some guidance.
LsU Panhellenic Sorority Chapters
LSU is home to 12 Panhellenic Sororities that particpate in fall primary recruitment and one non-panhellenic* sorority that does not.
*Sigma Alpha does not participate in primary recruitment and holds their own events.
LSU’s sororities are located off of West Lakeshore Drive.

Recruitment does NOT start in August!
Sororities start looking at potential new members and making lists as soon as January and you need to do your best to get on their radar as soon as you commit to Ole Miss!
At LSU, Rec Letters are REQUIRED
Letters of recommendation or Recruitment Information Forms (RIFs) are essential to getting the recruitment team to know who you are. Even if you don’t know a member of the chapter, you still should obtain these. Reach out to older family members and friends who have attended college and their network. Ask teachers and coaches as well. You don’t know who may have been a member or knows someone.
GPA’s Matter
Your high school GPA and transcript will help determine how many chapters you will be eligible to see each round. The minimum GPA to go through recruitment is being enrolled in 12 credits and having a 2.7 high school GPA to participate, but you will be limited on which organization may invite you back. Each chapter has its minimum and that will impact the number of choices you have to choose from.
Deadlines are critical!
You need a Social Resume
This is not your mom’s resume. This is a reflection of your social and academic achievements. You are not applying for a job. This should highlight your character attributes.
Take Your Video Seriously
This should be the truest you. You only get one shot to make that first impression to show the members your personality. Use this to your advantage. Make sure they remember you.
Keep Up Your Grades Through Graduation
Yes, I’m talking about your GPA again. It is that important. Just because you got into college doesn’t mean you should slack in those last couple of classes. Even 0.1 drop in your GPA could be the difference of getting dropped from your favorite house!

Start collecting now! Do your best to get all the chapters you can. If you can’t get a specific organization, make sure to have a teacher/coach write a letter of your character.
You don’t need to be on social media, but if you have it, make sure it is cleaned up. And they WILL find your account no matter how far hidden you have it.
You need to make a great impression. Take your time and rehearse your video. You get one shot to make that first impression. Panhellenic has video prompts to help you answer.
Don’t Forget Something!
The Sorority Success Academy's course goes beyond the OOTDs and trends on TikTok to give you real information on how to navigate the rush process.
Learn the system of how recruitment works from both a sorority standpoint and a PNM and how to use it to your benefit to get your bid.
If you are only looking for rush outfits or what to have in your rush bag, this will not be the course for you. This is learning the actual process college Panhellenics use to select members.
